Our family feels truly blessed to have worked with James. He is a true professional and a kind, genuine person. We were looking for rural, farm type land to create a hunting and recreational retreat. James was a wealth of knowledge and helped us walk and evaluate numerous properties. It quickly became evident that James wanted to find us the piece of property that best fit our family. This is a tough period for real estate and land sales. Every sale truly does count. We had made an offer on a property, and I know this deal could have been worked out. However, several issues were arising in the negotiation and James professionally helped us realize that other properties were and would become available and that he would help us find a property that even more closely matched our family. He professionally guided us away from this property and worked with us to find another. This was the sign of a confident professional that worked to find us the "right" property, not just any property. I was so impressed that he would help us walk away from a potential deal in this tough market and risk the possibility of not getting "the sale".

Working with you, James, to "list" and "sell" my farm, Mountain Shadows, was a very pleasant and rewarding experience! You put it on the market in November of '07 and completed the sale(closed the deal) on January '08. I appreciate very much the attention you gave to getting my property sold. Growing up on a farm in North Carolina gave me an appreciation for the outdoors.  The old family farm became divided up amongst the family as many old farms do.  The acreage kept getting smaller and smaller and I realized that my two boys were not going to have a place hunt, fish, and simply do the things that little boys do on a farm.  I wanted a place that we could ride our ATVs, hunt, target practice, play in the creeks, and watch the trees grow!  I knew that land was in a limited supply and I began to search for a large acreage tract in VA and NC.  I have looked at dozens of properties over the last 10 years.  I never have found that one property that met my needs, be it size, location, environment, topography, price etc.

James Davis introduced me and my family to more than one parcel in November of 2006.  James, being an avid hunter, could appreciate what I was looking for.  He, unlike many other realtors, actually knew the land from one corner to the other.  In January of 2007 we purchased a 200 acre tract.  James was most helpful in answering all our questions and was there for us at all times through the whole process.

It has been a joyful experience for Sue and me to work with you on the recent sale of our cabin in Virginia. As you know, this is the second time you have helped us in real estate; however, this time was far more dramatic than the first time.
